Gilbert Torres is President /CEO of Sigma Science Inc. In this capacity, he is responsible for technical and business operations.
Gilbert Torres is President /CEO of Sigma Science Inc. In this capacity, he is responsible for technical and business operations. His focus areas include; nuclear safety, global security and nonproliferation, engineering, operations, environmental management and program management.
Prior to this role, Torres held leadership roles as the Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) Packaging and Transportation Program Director for High Hazard Operations and the Nuclear Safety Deputy Division Leader, where he was responsible for delivery of a portfolio of nuclear and environmental management solutions.
Torres graduated from New Mexico State University with a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering and the University of New Mexico with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He is passionate about attracting and retaining best in class technical experts by providing rewarding and challenging career opportunities.
Lisa Stringfield is a Principal Partner at Sigma Science with over 25 years of experience as a Senior Tech Safety Analyst /Project Manager.
Lisa Stringfield is a Principal Partner at Sigma Science with over 25 years of experience as a Senior Technical Safety Analyst and Project Manager in the areas of safety analysis and risk assessment.
Stringfield has provided 20 years of support to Sigma Science Inc. at Hazard Category (HC)-1, -2, and -3 nuclear facilities and non-nuclear facilities at several Department of Energy Hazard (DOE) and Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) sites. These sites include the Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), Sandia National Laboratories, and the Nevada Test Site. Stringfield has also served as a member of the Senior Advisory Panel at LANL. Prior to joining Sigma Science in 1997, Stringfield served as a technical safety analyst with Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC, now known as Leidos).
Stringfield graduated from Texas A&M University with a Master of Science in Safety Engineering, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering.
Russell Durrer is a Principal Partner at Sigma Science Inc. with over 30 years of experience as a radiological engineer and analyst.
Russell Durrer is a Principal Partner at Sigma Science Inc. with over 30 years of experience in the areas of radiological engineering/health physics, facility management, health and safety, and quality assurance/quality control at Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and Department of Energy (DOE) regulated facilities.
Durrer has worked for Sigma Science for over 18 years and has participated in or lead efforts in health physics instrumentation, radiation shielding design, radiation portal monitor development and testing, and dose management. Additionally, he has performed dispersion analysis, incident/occurrence investigation, procedure development, regulatory compliance audits, expert system and database design, and hazard and accident analysis.
Durrer graduated from Texas A&M University with a Master of Science in Health Physics, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Radiological Health Engineering.
